Conor McGregor is stepping into the music game. The UFC champ-turned-business mogul has officially signed Sweet Love, a fresh and funky girl group that’s already got people buzzing, to his Dublin-based label Greenback Records.
Members Venice, Honey, Jasmine, and Maya bring a gumbo of vocal prowess, smooth harmonies, and seductive stage presence to the industry. McGregor isn’t holding back on the hype either, calling them “the biggest girl band since The Spice Girls.” That’s a big claim, but from the energy these four bring, he may be on to something.
Most people know McGregor from rumbling in the octagon, but he’s been making major business moves outside of fighting. Greenback Records is his latest venture, following successful brands like Proper No. Twelve Whiskey, McGregor FAST, and The Black Forge Inn. This time, he’s diving headfirst into the music industry, which has transcended from grassroots to social popularity.
“Ireland is about to have its first major record label,” McGregor announced. “I’ve been watching the industry for a while, and now it’s time to change the game.”
Sweet Love is the first major act under the label, and with McGregor’s marketing muscle behind them, they’re already turning heads. Their sound mixes soulful melodies, modern R&B vibes, and feel-good pop hooks that get stuck in your head. It’s got that throwback 2000s energy; think Destiny’s Child meets TLC but with a fresh, polished twist. Their upcoming single is said to have a hypnotic hook, a beat that pulls you in, and harmonies that feel both nostalgic and new. The group is all about empowerment, confidence, and delivering music that makes people feel something.
R&B veteran singer and songwriter Ne-Yo is already paying Sweet Love some attention. The legendary crooner recently followed them on Instagram, and the ladies wasted no time shooting their shot. “We absolutely love Ne-Yo,” said Honey. “Ne-Yo, if you’re listening, the girls are calling!”
A collab with Ne-Yo would be a major power move since he’s credited for penning hits for artists like Beyonce (“Irreplaceable), Rihanna (“Take a Bow” and “Hate That I Love You”), Mario (“Let Me Love You”), Jennifer Hudson (“Spotlight”), and Keri Hilson (“Knock You Down”).
With their first official single set to drop soon, Sweet Love is gearing up for a major rollout. McGregor is expected to push them to both mainstream and urban markets using his global reach. “We’re bringing something fresh, something real,” said Venice. “This is only the beginning.”
Whether or not the Ne-Yo collab happens, Sweet Love is looking to make a splash.
Recently, Ne-Yo has been making headlines beyond his music. A video surfaced online showing him sharing affectionate moments with his three girlfriends backstage before a performance, sparking a mix of reactions. Despite the buzz, Ne-Yo remains unapologetic about his lifestyle choices, focusing on his artistry and upcoming projects.
In addition to his personal life, Ne-Yo has been expanding his professional horizons. In November 2024, he ventured into sports management, signing boxer Paul Bamba as his first athlete. Tragically, Bamba passed away in December 2024, just days after claiming the World Boxing Association’s cruiserweight title.
On a brighter note, Ne-Yo is set to join Mary J. Blige on her 2025 ‘For My Fans’ Tour. The trek will cover various arenas across the U.S. and Canada.
